Them pebbles

On Sunday we decided to put a spell on the weather and go to the beach. We chose Brighton.
Brighton has a shingle beach so I could play with the pebbles a little when... my mummy wasn't looking. Sorry, Mum!
Don't be misguided by my expression above. I did enjoy them pebbles!
Ok, at some point my parents tried everything to put me in a good mood and nothing worked, then their dear friend Kully came to the rescue and I was as good as gold. Thank you!
After sunbathing, we all went to have a curry. My first Indian restaurant experience was very positive (unlike my parents', ha ha). Mummy had korma and mango lassi, which of course means I had the same. Yum, yum!

We had such a good day in Brighton, I've got a feeling we'll be back on the beach again soon, weather permitting.

7 months old

Guess what... I'm 7 months today! To celebrate the occasion in big style, I sprouted my first two teeth. Bye bye to the gummy grin. Hello to a mouthful of gleaming teeth!

There's no picture of that yet, instead I enclose pictures of some fruit and vegetables I've tried in the last few days. It'll be a bit easier to munch on apples etc. with those two brand new choppers from now on.
Yummy apple. Love those!
Juicy tomato. Learning about different foods is fun!
Cool cucumber. Auntie Natalia, do you still want to invite us over to your place? I'm afraid it can get a little messy... :-)
By the way, drinking water is officially my new hobby these days.

Meeting Grandpa Tadzio

Hello, hello!
You know I just came back from a holiday in Poland. We had a really great time and I'll tell you more about it soon.

Today I'd like to introduce you to my Grandpa Tadzio, who is my daddy's dad.
We spent a lot of time together. I visited Grandpa's place a few times and we also went to the beach and seaport. I couldn't help myself sticking my tongue out as I was enjoying our grandpa/granddaughter time so much.
Grandpa has many breathtaking war time stories to tell. That's him, his mum, friend and big sister going for a walk in Warsaw in June 1943. Mind you, this was the time when Poland was occupied by the Nazis.
See you soon, Grandpa! Miss you already. xxx

Catching up

We seem to go to Greenwich nearly every single day this month. In fact, we went there every day in the last four days.
It's a great place for my parents to catch up with friends and the park is perfect for the hot weather. It's not that easy to carry on with the blog when it's so hot, I can tell you that...

Ok, time to catch up.

On Friday I got my first certificate for finishing a singing course at a local children's centre! The course was lots of fun and we practised choosing and sharing toys and mummy says I'm getting there. I learnt a few catchy songs, such as "Oh where, oh where?", "Twinkle twinkle, traffic light" and "Have a turn and pass it on". Still, my favourite nursery rhymes for the last couple of weeks have been "Wind the bobbin up" and "Down in the jungle". My face lights up whenever I hear those two.
Certificate girl.
On Sunday, during nappy changing time I managed to put my left feet in my mouth and the toes tasted great. There isn't a photo of it yet but there will be in the near future.

As far as eating is concerned, I finally managed to have little bits of strawberry and apple yesterday. My parents made a big deal out of it. :-) By the way, water tastes amazing.

Apart from that, I giggle on a regular basis now, especially when my parents blow raspberries on my belly or pretend they are eating me up. Also, I absolutely adore animal sounds and my favourite one is "meow!".

Now, time for some bad news:
I'm probably not going to be posting here for a while...
But the good news is:
I'm flying to Poland today. I'm so excited!

See you later, alligator!

The weather has been amazing the last few days... It finally feels like summer! I'm sure all of you have been enjoying the sunshine just like us.
We've been chilling out everywhere. In Greenwich.
In our local park. Let me take this opportunity to say thank you to an incredibly lovely bunch of Turkish people for that beautiful jeans dress. When I was in my mummy's tummy, my parents flew to Turkey for their friends' wedding and that's where they saw me, or a scan of me, for the first time. They say they have very fond memories of that holiday.
On the terrace. That's Charlotte and her mummy. Recently she ate her first whole banana so I have some catching up to do. :-)

Happy sunbathing!

My life in the last few days has been kind of intense.

On Monday I said "mama" for the first time. Mum is over the moon especially that I keep on repeating it over and over again! Before I used to say "meh-meh" when I needed her so there's a sense of progress here. I also say "meh", which means milk. When I was younger, I used to say "neh" and "leh" when I was hungry. I'm glad my super smart parents deciphered it quickly and everything is clear.

On Tuesday I tried a little bit of brocolli and banana and I sucked on carrot. It was a strange experience but I'm planning to do it again.
On Wednesday nan was going back home so we jumped on the train to Victoria station in order to put her on the coach to the airport. I had never been on the train before so everything was new to me. Lots of passengers wanted to talk to me, which made it all more fun.
Today I miss nan a lot and it makes me want to cry. My parents are also sad but they are putting a brave face.
